Gently pull the tab down about 1 4 inch or until a click is heard.
The door may immediately unlock.
This can occur from normal shipping movement.
If the control locked light will not turn off i recommend unplugging the washer for 5 minutes.
The door can now be opened.
If not then your main control board will need to be replaced.
None of the buttons respond.
Now the door is locked and the drain pump motor continually runs.
If the door lock is defective the washer door will not latch properly.

I started my maytag maxima washing machine but got to turn on the water.
